Climate change, species extinction, ceaseless war, political corruption, economic recession, joblessness… Some days the problems of the world seem too big to even wrap your mind around, much less do anything about. The mainstream media only amplifies the pervasive feeling of fear, hopelessness, and disillusionment. Arab Spring and Occupy have shined bright lights on the problems, but still, solutions seem distant. In those moments, I narrow my vision, searching for the one small thing I can do to make a difference. On some days, the best I can hope for is to not make it worse, on others, the smallest act can change a life.
